【ルワンダ受講生インタビュー】Blaiseさん「自国ルワンダのスポーツ部門、選手のためにシステム開発を！」

ルワンダ受講生のBlaiseさんにインタビューいたしました。ルワンダのスポーツ業界の発展と活性を目指し、今後の勉強も頑張る意気込みを語ってくれました。

2019年7月に開校した、ディープロルワンダ校。ディープロ東京校から代表の野呂とメンターが1名、現地に渡航してプログラミングを教えてきました。

学習が進んで1ヶ月した頃に受講生インタビューを実施！Uyisenga Blaise Gustaveさんにお話を伺いました。

だんだんと勉強が楽しくなる毎日

ここでプログラミングを始めてから１ヶ月ほど経ちますが、どのように感じていますか？

It has been one month since you started programming here. How do you feel?

Blaiseさん「とても楽しいです。はじめは、学ぶ内容がもっと難しいと思っていました。でも、日に日にできることが増えてきて、今のところ楽しんでいます。今はRubyの習ったことを使ってみるというよりかは、できることを増やすことに重きを置いています。コツコツ積み上げていけば、いつか大きなことができると信じて頑張っています。」

Mr. Blaise “I’m just feeling happy. In the beginning, I was expecting to learn new things which are more difficult, but, day by day, I’m getting more skills and I enjoy it so far. These days, I’m not focusing on using the skills but first increasing the ruby skills so, in the end, I can achieve something big.”

勉強は難しいですか？楽しいことの方が多いですか？

Is it difficult or fun? Which is more?

Blaiseさん「今のところ難しいことも多いですが、日に日にRubyの理解が深まってきて、楽しくもなってきています。」

Mr. Blaise “For now, it is difficult, but day by day, Ruby language gets more understandable and fun.”

夢はルワンダにおけるスポーツ業界の活性化

プログラミングをどのように学び、自国ではどのように活用したいと思っていますか？

How do you want to learn programming and use it in your own country?

Blaiseさん「僕の国ルワンダはまだ発展途上なので、さまざまな業界のIT化度合いが低い状態です。だから、まずはプログラミングを勉強して、エキスパートを目指します。Ruby on railsを使って、何か大きなプロジェクトを立ち上げられるようになったら、いくつかの業界で自分のスキルを用いてシステムを作りたいです。システムにより生産性を高め、コストカットをしていきたいと考えています。」

Mr. Blaise “My country, Rwanda is one of the African developing countries so many sectors are still not developed yet. Firstly, I want to learn programming and become an expert in it. Once I get the ability to build something big with programming skills especially using Ruby on rails, I will introduce those skills in some sectors so that I can reduce the cost of productions by increasing the outcomes.”

どの業界に1番興味を持っていますか？

Which sector are you most interested in?

Blaiseさん「初めはスポーツ業界に注目していました。ルワンダのスポーツ選手に、キャリアをガイドするための契約内容やルール、規則を伝えられるアプリケーションを作りたいと思っていたんです。ルワンダの選手は皆、契約もルールもわからずに選手になる人が多くいるのです。」

Mr. Blaise “In the beginning, I was focusing on the sports sector. I was trying to build some application which will facilitate the local players to become familiar with the contract, rules, and regulations that guide their careers because the majority of them don’t understand their rights.”

他の国の人と一緒に働くことについては、どのように感じますか？

How about to work with other country members?

Blaiseさん「働けるのであれば、ぜひ海外の方々と働きたいです。ですが、まずは自分の実力を上げなければなりません。きちんと実力を上げてからであれば、海外で働くことはとても良いことだと思います。」

Mr. Blaise “Being honest, I would love to work with other countries but first, we have to satisfy ourselves, and then, after some period, working outside of the country is the best thing.”

プログラミングで広がった将来の選択肢

あなたの夢を教えてください。

What is your dream?

Blaiseさん「僕の夢はルワンダのスポーツ業界での問題を解決できるアプリケーションを作ることです。それが何よりもやりたいことで、モチベーションにもなっています。それとは別に、ルワンダのレンタルシステムが、まだ手作業で行われていることが多いので、そのアプリケーションを作りたいとも思っています。でもそれは2番目にやりたいことで、まずはやはり、スポーツをサポートするアプリケーションを作りたいです。」

Mr. Blaise “My dream is to build applications that solve sports problems in Rwanda. That is my first priority and motivation, but, after that, I would love to develop a rental control system application. That application will help the collectors of revenue on the house to get more information without using the manual method, but that is the second choice after performing the first choice of building sports application.”

そのアプリケーションを作るのに成功したら、その次には何をしたいですか？

If you create that application, what is the thing you want to do next?

Blaiseさん「アプリケーション作成に成功したら、その次はもちろん起業です。若い世代にプログラミングを教える会社を設立して、自分がディープロに助けてもらったように、今度は自分が若い世代をサポートする立場になりたいです。」

Mr. Blaise “Of course, after making that application successfully, that will be the beginning of having my own company and it will be a company build on programming issues and I will love to pay it forward by lecturing and help the IT young Generation, as I was helped by DIVE INTO CODE.”

ディープロに何か一言いただけますか？

Blaiseさん「まず、スタッフの皆さんがもっと英語を勉強することですね。そうすれば全世界に教えることができますから。次に、今朝、日本人受講生たちとやり取りしているところを見たのですが、彼らは若くないのになぜこれからプログラミングを学ぼうとしているのだろうかと思いました。コーディングをもっと若い時から始めればよかったのに。まぁ、これは僕の感想なんですけどね。でも若いうちに始めるべきです！

ディープロの学習プログラムは良いと思います。しかし、プログラムはとても短い期間で行われてしまい、1日8時間たくさん学ぶことがあるので、どんどん難しくなってきます。そして分からないことが出てきて、詳細が分からないまま終わってしまいます。だから、受講期間を1年に伸ばして、1日に学ぶ時間を少なくすればいいと思います。そうすれば、受講内容をより深くまで理解できて、自分が今、実際に何を学んでいるのかが分かるようになってくると思います。だけどディープロは本当に素晴らしいと思います。自分がここで学ぶことを選んで良かったと、心の底から思っています。」

Mr. Blaise “First, they have to try to learn more English so that they can tell to all the world. That is my first obvious comment. Second, in the morning, I was seeing the interviews dropped to the students and I was wondering why those students are all old. How about them started coding when they were still young… Okay, that’s according to me. You have to start it earlier.

And, the program of DIVE INTO CODE is good, but the program takes a short period so that every day we get difficulties because we have many things to study in 8 hours on a day, and you cannot get enough to know what in details before finishing it. So, I think you can extend the period to one year but reduce hours per day. So that people can understand deeper about the production and what they are learning. But, they did a good job. It was even a good choice for me to be here, I swear.”
