【ルワンダ受講生インタビュー】Cherifさん「僕が思っていた教育の当たり前を良い意味で覆してくれた」

ルワンダ受講生のCherifさんにインタビューいたしました。ディープロの教育方法の魅力を語ってくれました。

2019年7月に開校した、ディープロルワンダ校。ディープロ東京校から代表の野呂とメンターが1名、現地に渡航してプログラミングを教えてきました。

学習が進んで1ヶ月した頃に受講生インタビューを実施！Isimbi Aimable Cherifさんにお話を伺いました。

初心者でも安心して学べるディープロの魅力

ディープロでのプログラミング経験についてお聞かせください。

“How do you feel the experience of programming here in ディープロ?”

Cherifさん「ディープロに入校してから1週間と2日経ちました。入校前に、だいたいの勉強量や経験値を予測していましたが、入ってみたら、想像を上回る量でした。最初は基礎知識すらなかったのですが、ここの教材は、初心者にもわかりやすいように設計されていて、詳細まで教えてくれます。ここでの経験は実際に使えそうなものばかりで、自分が成長していることを感じます。また、その日の振り返りにKPTが役立っています。ここでの学習を通じて、近い将来、自分自身で何かを作り上げられる気がしています。ここでの経験を活かし、将来はデキるエンジニアになりたいです。」

Mr. Cherif “It has been a week and 2 days since I first joined in ディープロ. Before starting, I had pictured the amount to learn and experience, but turns out it was even more. When I joined, I didn’t have the basics but the platform is well designed and detailed so I helped beginners a lot. The experiences I have here are real so I think I can grow up. Also, KPT is helping me to review my day as well. I’m pretty confident that I will be able to develop on my own in the near future through this platform. And hopefully, I want to be a professional developer.”

プログラミングはおもしろいですか？難しいですか？

“Is programming fun or difficult?”

Cherifさん「プログラミングはおもしろいです。深く知れば知る程、より楽しくなってきます。ハマればハマるほど、没頭していたい気持ちも増していきます。はじめは初心者だったので、内容は複雑で難しかったです。でも勉強し始めてからは楽しくなってきました。」

Mr. Cherif “Programming is fun and the more you know the details, the more you feel fun. The more you dive in, the more you don’t wanna come out. So at first, I was a beginner and it was rather hard and complicated to learn. But, it is rather interesting when I started to learn it.”

自分の声が、「プログラミングこそ、今やるべきことだ！」と教えてくれた

ルワンダのために、プログラミングをどのように活かしたいですか？

“How do you want to use programming for your country, Rwanda?”

Cherifさん「とても個人的な話になってしまいますが、昔は医者になりたいと思っていました。しかしある時、コンピュータの方が好きだということに気がつきました。当時はまだ熱中していた訳ではなかったので、コンピュータの他に数学や物理を勉強しました。大学に入ってからは経営にも興味があり、コンピュータと経営を学びました。そこで、『プログラミングこそ、自分がやるべきことである！』という自分の声が聞こえてきたんです。

必要なスキルを積んでから、1番最初に作りたいものは、農業や医療で役に立つアプリケーションです。詳しく言うと、例えば医療では、患者さんが簡単に薬を購入できたり薬局とやり取りできるようなアプリケーションを作りたいです。そのためには、病院とも繋がっていなければなりません。今後学んでいくにあたり、他のアイデアもいろいろと浮かんでくると思います。」

Mr. Cherif “This answer will be very personal. I had wanted to be a doctor but turns out I liked the computer even more. But still, that time I wasn’t oriented so I was rather into mathematics, physics, and computer. When I entered university, I was interested in business so I have studied computer and business. Then I found my voice saying I feel I have a bigger connection with programming.

The first thing I want to do after I gain the necessary skills is to create a platform that helps either in the agriculture sector or the medical sector. More specifically, I would create a platform that would help patients. Easier access to pharmacies and medicines so that the platform has to be connected with hospitals too. I feel the more I learn, the more ideas I come up with.”

国外のエンジニアと働くことについて、どうお考えですか？

“How do you think about working with foreign countries’ developers?”

Cherifさん「自分のスキルを世界レベルまで上げなきゃいけないので、正直怖いです。十分な勉強や努力、時間を要します。でもできることならそのレベルまでいきたいです。」

Mr. Cherif “I’m thrilled because I should increase my skills to the global level. It acquires a lot of work, a lot of effort, and a lot of time. But hopefully, I can achieve that level.”

将来の夢を教えてください。

“What is your dream in your life?”

Cherifさん「夢は自分のITの会社を持つことです。自分がどうありたいかを考えた時、誰かに雇われている姿ではなく、自分が誰かを雇い、自分のやりたいことをする姿が見えるんです。だから誰かと一緒に、自分たちのIT企業を創りたいです。」

Mr. Cherif “My dream is to create my own tech company. When I picture myself, I don’t see someone employed somewhere but someone employs others and does his own things. So I collaborate with others and I want to create my own IT company.”

教育の当たり前を覆したディープロ

ディープロに何か一言お願いします。

“Please give comments to ディープロ.”

Cherifさん「僕は今、経営とIT専攻の学部生です。大学のカリキュラムでは学ぶことは多いですが、現場で使えるスキルはあまり培えません。それが当たり前だと思っていました。でも、ディープロに来て、その当たり前が覆りました。何人もメンターが周りにいて、必要な時にすぐに教えてもらうことができます。このやり方を今後も変えないで欲しいです。僕たち受講生は皆、ここで学べる機会に感謝しています。僕が気に入っているのは、野呂さんが僕たちの勉強するやる気を高めてくれることです。

また、実践的なスキルを習得できるような教え方なのも気に入っています。ディープロがしていることはとても魅力的なことだし、多くの人に影響を及ぼすでしょう。本当にありがとうございます。」

Mr. Cherif “Now I’m a university student doing bachelor in business information and technology. There are a lot of things we cover in the curriculum but we don’t get many practical skills in the end. When I came to ディープロ, a lot of those things changed. There are a lot of mentors to help students. You can easily access information from people around you. I think you should continue this way. We, students, are all thankful for this opportunity.

What I like is that you motivate us to study hard and you are making us be able to obtain practical skills. I think it is a beautiful thing and will impact a lot of people. Thank you very much.”
